Brnjsminreturns with his long-awaitedsecond albumonVerydeeprecords, blending leftfield electronic(a) with bass-driven ambient and not not jazz. A tripping brain dance with a wink for fans of dreamy synths and early Four Tet. For the artwork and release campaign, Nuremberg-based design studioComplex Pleasurescombined line drawings by the artist himself with found images, typographic elements and glossy 3D graphics, creating a unique visual world reflecting the playful approach of the music. The text is mostly set in Samara Keller’sTempos Mono. In addition, some glyphs fromABC Maxi RoundandLL Fiat77can be found and the back cover features some customized bits and pieces fromCirrusCumulusandGT Alpina.

Brand energy

This eclectic typographic system embodies the experimental spirit of leftfield electronic music through deliberate formal disruption. The monospaced Tempos Mono creates a digital, code-like foundation that references electronic music's technological roots, while the playful geometric roundness of ABC Maxi Round and the constructed angularity of LL Fiat77 add moments of visual surprise that mirror the music's "tripping brain dance" aesthetic.

Typography rationale

The system operates on deliberate contrast-through-collision rather than harmonious pairing. Tempos Mono's fixed-width geometric structure provides systematic order for credits and track listings, essential for music packaging hierarchy. The injection of ABC Maxi Round's extreme geometric roundness and LL Fiat77's constructed forms creates controlled chaos—each typeface maintains geometric DNA but expresses wildly different personalities, perfectly matching the "playful approach" of blending electronic genres.

Pairing analysis

This is a high-risk, high-reward multi-font strategy that breaks conventional pairing rules through shared geometric form models. While Tempos Mono, ABC Maxi Round, and LL Fiat77 all stem from constructed/geometric foundations, their extreme personality differences (mono rigidity vs. bubble playfulness vs. angular futurism) create deliberate visual friction. The addition of CirrusCumulus and GT Alpina fragments push the system into collage territory, reflecting the album's genre-blending approach through typographic pastiche.
